Locking design analyze of central locking casters

As we know due to central locking casters unique brake structure ,they are usually used as medical casters,such as medical bed,medical trolley,liner casters....

At current there are mainly have two types of central brake design.Press force brake,and Locking Gear Brake

Press force brake: The inner side of wheel surface pressed by the brake disc, the wheel locked by friction/pressure.

Advantages: simple structure, low cost

Defects:

1. The brakes will loose after a some time working,sometimes the brake can not lock wheel tightly or can not locked wheel anymore.

2.Need more strength to operate the lock cam, which affects the service life of the central control link system.

Locking gear brake: The wheel is locked through brake gear parts lock the inside gear of the wheel.

Advantage:

1. Once locked, it will not loose again

2. Less operate strength and long service life

Defect:

The structure is complex and the cost is high

Our current design of the control wheel with gear brake design, And the whole wheel is closed ,Our central brake casters enable wheel anti - winding, dust-proof, easy to clean. In addition to this,our wheels use nylon materials to ensure the durability of the wheels.

caster with central lock

Central locking caster have 3 steps locking,Release,Direction Lock and Total Lock. For now we have two kind of standard mounting size. Ø32 x 50mm,Ø28 x 98.5mm,brake angle 45 degree We choose ABS wheel frame,PA Core and PU or TPR tread. Beside this we use total 6 sets of precision bearings to make sure the caster work more stable. Wheel diameter option : 5 inch ---Loading 110kg ,6inch---Loading 150kg, After connection by link rod all centralized locking caster wheels can be synchronous operation.Because of above features,Our centralized lock caster Mainly used as medical equipment caster,such as operation bed caster , bariatric bed caster ,and other precision device mute caster.

Wheelchair front casters and rear wheels

We are now develop a new model of wheelchair casters wheels . See below picture, 8 inch wheelchair front casters wheels and 10 inch wheelchair rear wheels . Wheel center with strong reinforce rib and made from good quality PP, And we adopt high quality polyurethane,that ensure entire wheel durable and can rotation at low noise. Front wheel size : Ø200mm x 38mm wide, Rear wheel’s size :Ø254mm x 38mm wide. Color option: Full black or black hub with Grey Tyre.
